Set off on an unforgettable private day excursion to the island of Capri, beginning at the port of Naples, where you’ll meet your expert local guide. After a brief introduction, you’ll board the hydrofoil and glide across the shimmering Bay of Naples, watching the island rise dramatically from the sea as you approach Marina Grande, Capri’s colourful main port. Once ashore, a private minivan awaits to whisk you through the island’s most spectacular sites while you relax and enjoy the incredible landscapes.
While the exact order of the day may vary depending on weather conditions and your particular interests, there is a wealth of attractions available to visit should you wish to include them in your adventure. Most travellers opt to begin with a visit to Capri’s legendary Blue Grotto, where small rowboats usher you into a cavern bathed in an otherworldly turquoise glow, an experience that feels almost dreamlike. You’ll then journey up to Anacapri, the quieter, more traditional side of the island, passing by the elegant Villa San Michele and hearing stories about its charismatic and eccentric founder, with the option to step inside to see its lovely terrace and gardens. Another exhilarating option is the chairlift to Monte Solaro, which departs from Anacapri and carries you effortlessly to the island’s highest point, where breathtaking panoramas stretch across the Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and the rugged cliffs that define Capri’s silhouette.
Returning toward the livelier half of the island, you’ll wander into glamorous Capri town, strolling past elegant boutiques, ivy-draped alleyways, and sun-splashed terraces before pausing in the iconic Piazzetta, the beating heart of island life. There will be time to sit down for lunch at a local restaurant of your choosing (at your own expense), giving you the chance to savour Capri’s fresh Mediterranean flavours. There are many ways to conclude your time on the island, and one of the most scenic is undoubtedly the lush Gardens of Augustus, where you have the opportunity to take in unforgettable views of the Faraglioni rock formations and the curves of Via Krupp far below. As the afternoon draws to a close, you’ll return to Marina Grande and board the hydrofoil back to Naples, having enjoyed a perfect introduction to one of Italy’s most celebrated islands.
Please note: Sometimes it is not possible to visit the Blue Grotto due to high tides or adverse weather conditions. Your guide will be happy to provide alternative options tailored to your interests. Apart from the hydrofoil, tickets will not be purchased ahead of time, so entrance to the Blue Grotto and other attractions will be at your own expense. Your guide will be happy to assist with securing tickets on site.
